08:13 AM ET 10.03 | The Gators' loss to Alabama will linger in more ways then one heading into next week. Florida officials did not have an update Sunday on the status of quarterback John Brantley, but Florida's players say they're confident backup Jeff Driskel can get the job done if the redshirt senior is out for any length of time. Of course, they don't have a choice if Brantley's right leg injury is as serious as feared. ... It's likely that Brantley will at least miss Saturday's game at top-ranked LSU, which means Driskel would get the first start of his career. UF will need him to play much better than he did in the second half against Alabama on Saturday night. The true freshman completed just 2-of-6 passes for 14 yards.

So, is Georgia in the east driver's seat now, or who?

Once UTK beats them this weekend they will be in the driver's seat.

They have to play someone at QB or run out of the wildcat formation all the time.

Wow, I bet you almost thought of that one on your own, hehehe, mornin Deep Creek! :-)

Mornin 0-6. On second thought maybe no one has to receive the snap. They can just scoot it back on the ground and make a scrum out of it.

I figured they would just hold him out anyways, just concede the game so to speak, then bring him back and slavage the rest of the season. So, is Georgia in the east driver's seat now, or who?

Sort of. UGA has an easier road, but they are NOT the better team. They have the easiest SEC West Schedule. They don't play Bama, LSU or Arkie this year. Florida plays two of those teams (Bama and LUS) and SCar plays one (Arkie)

SCar has the tie breaker over UGA at the moment.

Perfect upset opportunity. ; )

I'm liking your line of thinking....

However, I wonder if you're drunk.

So them horns got some token of revenge, and almost made it in the AP top ten again, moving on up!!!

If they keep maturing they may be okay by the end of the year. They will find out a little more about themselves this week in the big D.

On a side note, I think Malcolm Brown will have to share carries next year when Jonathan Gray gets there. Gray is very impressive...but UTx still needs some more O linemen.

So unless he transform in the next 4-5 days, they will be in trouble.. Then again I expect them to throw Burton back there

I think we are in trouble regardless of which QB plays....
