The Cubs are a train wreck right now. If Francona had a hard time getting through to the Red Sox players, how's he going to get through to Zambrano and Soriano?

Dusty Baker was on the radio this morning with a good perspective on the Cubs. he pointed out that even though as new manager/gm will come in thinking it's thier first year, to the fans it's year #103 (or whatever it is) and they want to win NOW!

If Theo gets there, Zambrano will be gone faster than a speeding bullet...maybe before Theo leaves, he'll trade for both of those guys and THEN take off...:)

oh man, this team is a complete wreck. Gut this thing, just cut the heart out of it...assuming there is one. I'm not sure the Cubbies even have one player that another team would want, they have no tradable comedies (commodities). What the heck would Epstien and Francona do, they'de only make it worse. It would be like adding fuel to the fire. Really, just gut it. Start with a home grown approach and develop talent within the organization. How many kids do they have in the minor leagues? What's the use of a minor league system if all you're going to do is sign free agents?
