08:18 AM ET 10.05 | More evidence has emerged that Missouri would take leave of the Big 12. Emerging shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday from a four-hour, closed-door Board of Curators session on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus, chairman Warren Erdman of Kansas City announced that the board had unanimously authorized MU Chancellor Brady Deaton to look at membership in another conference. ... Deaton then announced he had resigned his position as chairman of the Big 12 board of directors to "avoid any perceived or actual conflict of interest" and "in order to focus more fully on MU???s best interests." Deaton said he will work with other MU officials "to expeditiously examine what may be the best conference affiliation for our university."

Would Mizzou do well in the SEC? I just don't see it happening.

Would make for an interesting CBB rivalry with Arky and Mizzou. Other than that, I don't see much to gain, personally for Arky.
Maybe realignment....I'll trade TAMU and Mizzou in the west and move Bamer and Auburn to the East. Bring Tenn to the West and we're good.....

They would probably do fine. This isn't about winning conference titles, its about stability and more money. Still, I wouldn't rule out Missouri and A&M being a factor in the SEC. I remember people said the same about South Carolina and Arkansas back when the SEC expanded to 12. It took USC longer than Arkansas, but both have made their mark for sure. Arkansas in particular has been to the SEC championship a couple of times and has been a serious thorn in the side of schools like LSU and Auburn (they almost cost LSU the national championship in 2007).

That's interesting trade, but it seems more likely that Auburn would move to the East. It depends on what the SEC wants to do with the conference games. They might want to ditch the annual rivalry game and stay at 8 conference games. To preserve the Iron Bowl, they would move Alabama and Auburn to the East. Vandy or Kentucky would likely move to the west since UT is traditional rivals with both Bama and Auburn. Its a bit messy.

Why would you think otherwise? Sure the SEC is playing great football overall, but the Big 12 isn't exactly a weak conference and hasn't been for a while. You talk like they are moving from conference USA or something. lol I can guarantee Mizzou and A&M will not be a bottom feeder game for sure.

I know you are a jokester.
Texas A&M has lost 9 straight games to SEC opponents, and Missouri will get crushed.
All I have to say to Missouri if I were the Big XII is "Good Riddance"
