08:11 AM ET 10.05 | If you were looking for optimism from Stuart Sternberg after his club's season ended, you were sorely disappointed. [This] might be as good as it gets for Tampa Bay baseball. ... They seemed destined to be limited, doomed to be flawed. If that disappoints you, you should see it from Sternberg's viewpoint. Consider: "It won't be my decision, or solely my decision. But eventually, major-league baseball is going to vaporize this team. It could go on nine, 10, 12 more years. But between now and then, it's going to vaporize this team. Maybe a check gets written locally, maybe someone writes me a check (to buy the team). But it's going to get vaporized."

No he won't. He's a wonk for anything NY. His foul smelling diatribe will be around all winter.

Almost forgot.

Pal.

No use whining about it. You got what you deserved. Why does a team pop up in St. Pete in a crappy stadium anyway? Because they thought they were going to be successful? They are never going to draw dick there. Can't imagine why they thought they ever would. Too many old people & transplants who are rooting for other teams. Mabey if you slash the budget another 30 million they will come.

The consensus seems to be that MLB is expecting the Mets to handle that themselves

Morning peeps....I'm suprised they are there as long as they are....can anyone say "relocation"....North Carolina???Kentucky???? ..And it's a shame they have a good team and no support....Maybe the Mets and Rays should switch teams.....8)

Re-location??? Hartford, Long Island, or North Jersey. Might take 20 yrs. But the area has the baseball loving population to support one or two more franchises and balance the playing field for all of Baseball.
