08:14 AM ET 10.05 | The clock is ticking on Grady Sizemore's future in Cleveland. It's shouldn't be a surprise that [Sizemore] had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Monday in Vail, Colo. ... The good news: it wasn't microfracture surgery. The bad news: it was Sizemore's fifth surgery in the last three years. Now for the big question. The Indians hold a $9 million club option on Sizemore for 2012. He's played 104 games in the last two years and is returning from yet another operation. So what will ownership do? "Not going to speculate on that," said GM Chris Antonetti in a text. "We'll let you know when we have a decision on the option." If the Indians don't exercise the option, Sizemore is eligible for free agency.

He'll go to Chicago. That's where all players go to die

About that. They ought to just tie him and Reyes to a hospital gurney and push it into the Hudson.

It's a shame Grady can't stay healthy, he was a helluva player in his prime.

You're absolutely right. He was also, ironically, the proverbial iron man, averaging 160 games a season over his first four years in the majors, including a streak of 383 consecutive games played.

Great call there Slinky. It's gonna be a shame to see him go.

The Tribe has to hope that he will take far less than $9 million.......and that he can still hit for average/power from a wheelchair!

Ha!
Honestly, I'd be kind of surprised if Sizemore and the Indians don't work out some kind of deal. I can't imagine that any other team is ready to throw a lot of bucks at him after three injury and surgery filled seasons.
Then again, I've heard he's always wanted out of Cleveland, so maybe he'll see this as his chance.
Regardless, the Indians shouldn't give him much more than a couple million.

Sad when a "couple million" is viewed as a low rent investment

Prediction: Sizemore will play between 80 and 90 games, hit in the .260s, strike out on an average of about once every 3.5 at bats...and he'll do it somewhere other than Cleveland.

I agree 100% I have also heard that he wanted out of town but there are only a handful of suiters that can afford to take a gamble on him.
I could see him making his way to the west coast or maybe a team like the Mets cause they will pay anyone obscene amounts of cash to not play!!

I was going to say the Mets.
