Perry: Steroid users will get into Hall

Even after admitting Gaylord Perry had used foreign substances on the baseball for years, he was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1991 on his third try. The 69-year-old Perry, who spends his days fishing and hunting, believes this generation's cheaters - the steroid users - will also get into the Hall of Fame, eventually. "When you look at those numbers, it'll be awfully difficult for voters not to let them in," Perry said.

Perry was wildly overrated and considering how much he cheated should not be in the Hall.

The Hall should be about a lot more than numbers.

Sadly that is what our society has devolved into, stats before substance.

Lottery winners, shallow dimwits and cheap celebrity are valued over those with who work hard and have legitimate accomplishment and achievment in our society.

This is for greater minds than ours local boy.. I never said I was in favor of steriods, or any illegal drugs, only about whether or not people who were named did it. Now Clemens has denied it again. Shortly he will be on a "60" minutes interview. I guess its his word against McNamee's. I enjoyed watching both Bonds and the Rocket play because they were very talented ball players. But at this point as I have said before, don't hang a man until he is proven guilty. According to what I read, Clemens never tested positive. The mitchell report was not presented to a jury of his peers, and I've heard many people say not to jump to conclusions, including the president of the united states.

So the players who get in during the steroid era will be those who were just lucky enough to not get caught.
