Cole can't see why players don't love Montreal

08:27 AM ET 10.06 | Erik Cole doesn't fit the profile of the Canadiens' big acquisitions over the past few years -- for one thing, he's 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds. For some, living under a giant microscope that every Canadiens player faces daily is a stress many can do without. But winger Erik Cole doesn't understand the anxiety. To prove the pressure of playing in a hockey-mad city like Montreal is overblown, Cole signed a four-year, $18-million US contract with the Canadiens in the summer. "It's my favourite building to play in," Cole said on July 1, the day he signed with Montreal. "The feeling you get going into Montreal, the passion, the city, it just has an aura about it. I don't know how you can go in there and not play well."

Thanks for a reminder I didn't need, Canuck. I guess I can skip breakfast now that I've seen this trou-du-cul's name.

I concur. However, I've already been very pleasantly surprised by the new season. As a hockey hoor I've watched some of the prediction shows, etc. and not once have I had to endure Pierre McGuire.

It's true, all a true Leafs fan needs to see to be disgusted into a stupor is a clown in a Habs sweater.

I didn't know that was a symptom of jealousy. :-)

That kid is NOT fat. He's just too short. Great picture by the way. Hey, Stranger, did you know the season starts tonight? ;-).

I'm with you though. Been looking forward to it for what seems like forever. Good luck to us all!

He'll be back in NC by the end of the year.

Carey Price is going down tonight!

For the Canadians sake i hope he is being genuine. When he played in Edmontons avid and passionate fans atmosphere he was half the player he is when in Carolina

Gratz Montreal on Blair Betts. He will play good defensively responsible hockey for you. A lot of Flyers fans think he was over valued, but i still can't understand why we waived him and kept that piece of **** Shelley.

The interns don't speak French obviously. (Or much English for that matter).

Betts is an excellent pick up by Montreal. Solid PK guy.
