Correct. That is why the recommendations of the Mitchell report need to be implamented. Testing, testing, and more testing. There will always be cheaters, be it will be less likely they will get away with it and more likely they will be caught.

Manager records aren't that interesting anyhow.

I'm sure a large amount of the teams they played had 10 or more players roiding as well. The MLB should not touch any of the records set during this era and just give a reminder of the high amound of performance-enhancing drugs that are being used. No asterik next to Bonds. Leave Clemens' Cy Youngs alone. Don't take away championships. Every record is tainted from 1994-2004. It's just the way it is. Now, baseball needs to move on and deal with the next scandal that will come up.

I just finished reading one of the more heart rendering stories involving PEDs that I have seen so far. In today's NY Daily News former Yankees reliever Dan Naulty has a very long personal article that details his steroid use and HGH use and what it did to him. How it first made him the player he was... a journey man reliever in the majors ... and then the person he was to become. It details exactly why taking PEDs is an IMMORAL and hurtful and selfish decision that can and does destroy others and not just the user. The consequences of anyone who uses PEDs cheats others out of their very life goal that they have because they chose not to cheat and therefore lose their chance at making a MLB roster. The ever encompassing consequences details in his story are truly proof of why PED use is immoral and just pure D wrong. PEDs have no place in atheletics, not just baseball, and his story details the reasons why quite eloquently. Go online and read it. Now, in fact.

so now the NYTimes, part owner of the BoSox, wants to smear Torre even though he wasn't named-smeared-in the initial Mitchell/BoSox smearing effort -- every manager of every played named should be equally 'guilty' of failure to notice enhanced performance -- and how did all those brilliant trustworthy holier-than-thou sportswriters miss it, if it occurred?

There needs to be WADA type testing, or Olympic style testing, for ALL professional sports. There is too much money riding on outcomes, for the athlete, the management, the owners, and especially the gamblers and bettors for this to be ignored. NHL, NFL, MLB, NBA, MLS, they all should have strict, independent testing.

That is the only way to curb this; I say curb instead of stopping because the cheaters will still find a way, like Marion Jones did. How she passed drug tests is astounding. Same thing with the cyclists.

I forgot to mention tennis and golf, too. There are cheaters in ALL sports.
