Second-guessing newest White Sox

The White Sox apparently have found their bargain, which is more important to them than finding their man. Alexei Ramirez, Cuban slugger. Why does that sound funny to me? I think it's because he's considered to have below-average power for a major-leaguer. His league is supposed to be the equivalent of our low minor leagues. And any report about his age says he's listed at 26 -- or supposed to be 26. He has used multiple birthdays. He appears to be a borderline major-league player. He might be the Sox' starting center fielder or second baseman.

Would you rather pay Torii Hunter $18M/season? I agree with Manny J: let's see what this kid can do. Worst case scenario we bring back Owens. Best case scenario he has a good season. Just because the Sox didn't sign a huge--and grossly overpaid--name doesn't mean they failed this offseason.
