08:02 AM ET 10.07 | Clearly upset, Jason Babin boiled over Thursday. It's not the money that bothers [Babin]. It's the concept of getting fined for playing football the way he was taught that gets under his skin. "I got fined for playing football," Babin said after practice Thursday. Babin, the NFL's sack leader, said he was fined $15,000 for a hit on 49ers quarterback Alex Smith during the Eagles' 24-23 loss Sunday. Babin is playing in the first year of a five-year, $28.325 million contract. "It's ridiculous," he said. "They just arbitrarily go around fining guys for whatever they want. I'd love to look at the hits from 10 years ago that guys are being fined for now. They were probably getting bonuses back then, not getting fined."

Got some cheese to go with that whine?

October 7, 2011  08:04 AM ET

The kinder gentleer NFL sucks and the players and union should have stood up to Goodell

October 7, 2011  08:04 AM ET

I agree with Babin. When I watch the NFL, I want to see hits. Let them play!

October 7, 2011  08:04 AM ET

Stop Whining, Bro.

October 7, 2011  08:07 AM ET

Babin's right. The NFL has ostensibly instituted a tax on the players, with the defensive players paying most of the tax.

October 7, 2011  08:11 AM ET

Its sad he was fined. It's even sadder to think that in 5 years they will probly outlaw sacks.

Dear NFL.....Football is a bigboy sport!!!

October 7, 2011  08:12 AM ET

I think if yo utalk to the right group of 49ers fans they'll pay the fine and tell you to hit him in the knees next time

The NFL's product is entertainment. When it no longer is fun to watch, people will stop watching. Roger might want to remember that football is a sport and entertainment, not a factory. People don't get excited by watching paint dry.

Geez, I need to stop whining.

October 7, 2011  08:28 AM ET

But, you can hit a blocker any way you want.

Bro... You can't hit Alex like that.

October 7, 2011  08:31 AM ET

Babin must like being fined. Running his mouth is just begging for another one.

They could go undefeated if the NBA ends up cancelling the whole season.

and still the defending champions - the Dallas Mavericks!

Simple solution. That sissified pinhead needs to go. We need football people running the league, not some choirboy. You shouldn't be allowed in league management unless you actually played the game.

It's a game. The rules change. That's why they dont wear leather helmets anymore.
