10:41 AM ET 10.09 | A person familiar with the situation told The AP that Dwyane Wade called an hourlong meeting with players after the FIU game to discuss the lockout. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because talks were to remain private, saying Wade, Chris Paul and Miami Heat player representative James Jones answered questions about the status of negotations. The person also said Wade has taken "a more active role" in talks about a new labor deal of late and that he urged players to be "informed rather than accept any deal."

Wade has become quite the little dictator with the players of the league.

I don't know.. I wouldn't say Wade is necessarily the smartest of the players out there.

Understatement of the year. Dwade has proven himself to be a real Dwaynus during the last year

Did the players ever get to vote on the 50/50 split? I read last week that they hadn't.

Their union won't allow them to vote on it because the union is listening and fighting for the superstar players, instead of the regular NBA player. If the union were allowed to vote, the regular players would vote to end the lock out decisively, the union is being handcuffed by the selfish demands of the superstars who refuse to give up a dime.

QUOTE(#12):

That's what's happening here. Don't you notice that it's only the superstars that attend the meetings? You don't have the average players that make up 80% of the NBA representing themselves in the meeting. This meeting called by DWade does not have a single non-star attending the meeting. This is nothing but a buddy system... There will be no season this year and I hope the owners will cancel as soon as tomorrow when the players say no to the 50-50 split...

Yeah like I said earlier in the day. Wade has become quite the little dictator. This guy has his money. He knows he has one more big time money contract left in his tank.

Also after last summer playing the roll of general manager of the Heat. Wade doesn't want the new CBA to break up the team he put together last summer.
