Avery causing more problems for Stars

10:59 AM ET 10.09 | The Stars are studying moves to add a player because of the sudden possibility that they could drop below the NHL-mandated salary floor of $48.3 million. The Stars have been paying half of Sean Avery's salary to the New York Rangers since losing him on recall waivers in 2009, and that $1.9 million has also counted against the salary cap for the Stars. However, the Rangers last week assigned Avery to the their minor league team in Connecticut , and the NHL notified the Stars that they could not count Avery's cap hit while he is in the minors, even though they still must pay the salary. That puts the Stars perilously close to the cap floor.

Like my gramdpa used to say,

"start with ****, end with ****."

October 9, 2011  11:14 AM ET

I have no sympathy for any club that was stupid enough to give this jerk a dime

October 9, 2011  11:29 AM ET

Maybe the Stars should go for Redden to clean up the floor...

Komisarek?

Komisarek?

What's with Rotten Ronnie keeping him and sending down Aulie?

October 9, 2011  11:57 AM ET

If they need to spend some money... I'm available and can lace 'em up.

October 9, 2011  12:22 PM ET

This is a problem that we will be happy to resolve.

The question is do you bring Aulie up over Franson...So far Komi has been fine, I'm more concerned with Schenn at the moment...or Gunnarson.

I know eh?

And Franson being a healthy scratch! They should be going with 7 defense (leaving Gardiner only playing the PP and when trailing and a goal is needed, and playing Liles a little less too) and Komisarek should not be one of the 7 guys.

Aulie was great last year, and Franson has a ton of talent.

Gunnarson is fine, so is Schenn. Schenn wasn't so good last night, but was good against Montreal.

Komisarek is still terrible, he is lost when he is out there. He is always out of position, he doesn't move his feet but instead just turns his head side to side like a lost puppy, and can't cover anyone.

I'd go with 7 defense. Don't play Gardiner as much (though he isn't playing much right now) and give Liles less ice time. Scratch Komisarek.

Aulie was a little off in camp, so I can give him that one. And since Komisarek hasn't done anything particularly stupid yet, i'm not gonna start tearing him up. But I do want to see Franson in game. Gunnarson might be an option to sit. His shots from the point last night were just awful.

I like Gunnarson a lot. Smooth skater, can move the puck, but is also solid in his own zone.

People need to stop cutting Komisarek slack, he sucks. He is always lost on the ice, and can't do anything particularly good.

Franson I have seen dozens of times and I would have him in over Komi even if Komi is slightly above him in the pecking order cause Komi is as good as he'll ever get and Franson needs icetime to improve his game

They can pay me 1.5 million per year if they need any cap help!

I've seen Franson a bit, and he is a million times better than Komisarek right now, and will probably continue to improve and be a trillion times better than Komisarek.

Seriously, Komisarek SUCKS!

Keith Aulie and Cody Franson need to draw into the lineup. Go with 7 D!

No he's not and he also blocks a lot of shots. When Komi is not being noticed is when he is doing his job.

They'll get their chance soon enough as injuries pile up...Camp is not a great bench mark to judge...I think Aulie will be back up soon...and Franson is probably out simply because with Gardiner, Gunnarson...The Rotten one deems it would be too much inexperience on the blue line.

Stop saying that.

I noticed him last night, and way to much.

And more times than not, Komisarek attempts to block shots by getting out in front, and leaving his man open and available for the open pass. Just face it, he sucks, stop trying to defend his suckiness.
