Sideline antics not Stoops' downfall

08:18 AM ET 10.11 | Arizona defensive coordinator Tim Kish likely won't bring the same fire that Mike Stoops did, and that may be a positive. Kish, 57, did not reply to messages left Monday. [Greg Byrne] said the Cats' interim head coach will "create a culture of calmness, which is probably a good thing for us." Stoops' sideline demeanor proved to be polarizing during his time as the Wildcats' coach; while some fans, boosters and administrators appreciated the fire, others found it embarrassing. Byrne talked with Stoops repeatedly over the last two years about toning down his sideline behavior, but said Monday that the coach's act had little to do with his dismissal. Stoops "made us better" during his time here, Byrne said. But not good enough.

Exactly, if they were 5-1, no one would care what he did on the sidelines...

Hang in there V! Vandy, Kentucky and Middle Tennessee show up at the end of the schedule. You guys had as crappy a schedule draw as UF...compared to Georgia, USCe. Such is why I like conferences where everyone plays everyone.

Fired!? Didn't Arizona lose at USC by just one TD. Hey that man deserves a contract extension don't you think.

Paging Mike Leach.

Great call. Tucson is a great college town with great weather. His high octane offense would do very well in the Pac 12.

Hopefully Byrne can do as well at Az as he did at MSU. He really changed the culture around Starkvegas, and hopefully he can get AZ a coach to take advantage of all it has to offer.

Another case of players not wanting to be yelled at. I am so sorry their feelings were hurt.
