08:14 AM ET 10.11 | The Angels' overhaul this offseason has not been an insignificant one, though Arte Moreno said Monday it was not to be considered a knee-jerk purge. "I just felt we weren't going in the direction we needed to go in and we needed a change," Moreno said, emphasizing that he had come to that realization "over a period of time." "Everybody thinks I'm being very impulsive but the decisions that have been made had been coming for awhile," he said. "I don't think anybody (in the organization) was shocked. It's not like I woke up and said we're going to do this. It's one of those deals where we've had discussions for awhile now and felt we needed to improve as an organization but we weren't heading in that direction."

arte moreno had seen enough with his GM, every trade every player that that GM has signed has being either a so-so or a failure from the first day, kazmir trade bad trade, the trade for texeira? bad trade as well, the signning or fuentes was bad already, pineiro, and the worse deal that this GM did it was to trade two players for wells and his hefty contract, anybody would ask or think, what was he thinking? did this GM was in his right mind? did he was drunk when he pull this deal? you don't make any deals just for fun, you have to study that deal you must analize that type of a deal, you had to have the credibility in your knowledge that in rweality this type of a deal will benifit your team in great amount, but if you are going to give alot for very unstable player, if you have to wait 3 to 4 months to be able to see some gainning in your new product? then what kind of guarantee do you got from this player?

i wonder at times does arte moreno has some body in mind as a GM? he should go after theo epstein, apparently the red sox has give up on his GM, the red sox has told to the media that nobody in the world its forever, and at the same time has show some displessure with his own GM, does theo epstein understood the message? that message that his own boss had told to everybody? did epstein catch the meaning? i mean anybody did understood very clear that message, and there is no worse blinded person than the one it doesn't want to see it!!

epstein should have some self respect for his own, give the key to your boss and just walk away, its bad enough that your own boss tells you that you are no longer needed in his company, epstein has enough knowledge to get a job any where in a blink of an eye, we are only humans and nobody should expect perfection, when the GM does everything right or the things had being working as expected then everybody carry you on their shoulders, but one's the magic its no longer working that's the time they will call it useless, sorry but that's how things usually works!!

October 11, 2011  03:34 PM ET

the angels will have to work very hard, this franchise has being limping in one leg for quiet some time, whoever has the responsability to sign or to do the drafts in any prospect, apparently nobody has being doing their job, so yes the franchise and the team its weak not to mention the unability from the GM to do the right thing, should the halos sign pujols? could they pull that type of a deal? now that would be a hugh boost of motivation for the team and managment & coaches, plus the angels attendance could increase in great amount!!
