08:13 AM ET 10.13 | Considering the way things went with Terry Francona, Theo Epstein may now be in the cross hairs of the Red Sox media machine. [Said Peter Gammons:] "It'll be interesting to see if they can screw it all up and trash Theo [Epstein] once he leaves. ... It doesn't speak really well about the way Tito left and the things he said, and the way Theo's leaving, about how insane New England has become. ... Gammons said that he feels that similarly controversial stories on Epstein may come out now that he is leaving for the Cubs. "That's my feeling on it, it's just going to happen now with Theo, too," Gammons said. "It's not attractive. ... It may be that some people in ownership think that Theo betrayed them."

Stories will come out whether the Bosox ownership is involved or not. It's the nature of our media.

Bad form if you ask me...

Starting to think that John Henry is a bit of a d00scher...

Heck Terry left a week ago and they are still kicking the crap out of him with a smear campaign. What a low down dirty thing to do.

It is a good thing that Boston lost like they did this year. They deserved it.

Theo put the talent out there. The players effed it up.

The Boston press doesn't need any help from ownership in a smear campaign.

Can't you just travel ahead in time a bit and then come back and tell us what happens?

^^^^^^^^This.Include Lucchino in that d00shiness too.

I agree Cat, I don't think it's Henry. He seems to be more concerned about his soccer team these days. Larry is a P.O.S., and needs to go. What manager in his right mind would want to deal with this guy day in and day out.

"how insane New England has become."

True ... they'll take the ball and run with it.Good morning Mongo!!! Terrible what's happening with our Red Sox. I am so disillusioned. Or, was I disillusioned before?

There, there. You want to talk about it?

I hope Theo reports for his first day of work in Chicago wearing a gorilla suit.
I also predict he'll be a fat slob within 2 years due to all that great Chicago meat and pizza.

Larry's the hatchet man...does the dirty work for the "nice guys", counts his money and doesn't care what people think about him.
Look around and find the equivalents in your organizations.

Well, this is the perfect thread for it ... or the Ortiz one. Take your pick.

I'd rather point out that the owners are the only ones not being implicated in any wrongdoing here. You KNOW they are the ones behind any info that is being leaked out.

So let's stay here.

Good ... then I won't be as sad that my eye candy is gone.

At least that sax machine John Henry is still around.
