Greedy Perry seeking Hart repeat

08:22 AM ET 10.14 | A dream season behind him, Corey Perry seeks deja vu on the ice. The Ducks forward would have used the word "crazy" if someone had told him that all this would happen by age 26. "You dream about all those things," Perry said Thursday, the eve of the Ducks' home opener at Honda Center. "You never think you're going to accomplish them. But to accomplish them at such a young age and to have them all, it's pretty special. It just makes you want more. You know how it feels and you want to do it all over again." Greed, after all, can be good around the net. "That's what it is to be an athlete," Perry said. "You want more and you want to win more. It's almost like being greedy."

Do You Still Have Hart, Bro?

October 14, 2011  09:10 AM ET

The Hart is good. Definitely. But if i were him, i'd be more worried about the Cup than individual achievement.

For a guy who's won a Cup, Hart, Richard, WJC and Olympic Golds he's still really underrated/underhyped if that's a word.

Yep. Nobody remembers or cares about your individual accolades until you win the Big One.

Agreed on all counts. Unlike most, he never saw a camera that he did like.

Perhaps in your neck of the woods , but i would venture that most of Canada's hockey fans are well aware of this guys elite level ability. I agree with Roamer-he is not a slave to self endorsement which makes him even greater in my books

Not shy about rough stuff either.

Actually roamer, in some cases you remember it more when they don't win the Big One or because they haven't: Eric Lindross, Darryl Sittler, Brad Park, Jean Ratelle,....

You can find a bunch of sites that list some of the best players in the game that never won one.

Eric ..... who?

You forgot to mention one of the best ever who never won the Big One: Cam Neely. But then, he's in a class by himself.

A lot of names I didn't mention. I did a TD about building a starting lineup of players who had never won one last June and when I did the research, some of the names I found surprised me.

You're right. Many lesser players just happen to be in the right place at the right time. But, many deserving players never get so lucky.

I attended a Flames Business Luncheon in DTown Calgary after they won the Cup. It was on display up front. I was quite surprisedat how big it is. All these years later i wish i had not worried about looking like a dork and just gone up and had my pic taken beside it.

Stanley and Allan cups were both in Powell River one summer when I lived there.

Brad Bombadir brought Stanley and the Powell River Regals had won the Allan Cup.

I never went anywhere near them.....
