08:23 AM ET 10.14 | Oft-sidelined Tim Connolly admitted Thursday that his injury is more significant than originally thought. [Connolly] was hurt when he crashed into the boards during practice 18 days ago. He was placed on injured reserve to start the season, and basically, this stopped being a day-to-day situation quite a while ago. Coach Ron Wilson was not willing to offer any insight into Connolly's notion that the injury is more serious than day to day. "It depends on days," Wilson said. "Are days on Mars longer in terms of hours? As far as I am concerned, he is day to day. When he is ready to play, we will let you know." Though everything points to a shoulder injury, Connolly would not confirm that.

Tactful as usual Ronny boy...

I'm surprised Ron didn't know how many hours a day there are on Mars. I uderstand coaching the Mars national team may be in his future.

Could he coach the Leafs to a cup win on Mars?

They'll need a GM.

Dateline Olympus Mars......A recent Gallup poll has confirmed that the Toronto Maple Leafs are the most popular hockey team among local residents......With 73% of the vote, the Leafs far eclipsed the second place team, the Calgary Flames at 14%.

I think Uranus would be a more appropriate planet for him.

I'd like to use this time to point out that after the July long weekend, my first post in here declared that Tim Connolly would not play a game in the month of October.

LOL - Big deal. I predicted we'd still need oxygen. About the same odds.

I am utterly shocked that Connolly is hurt. I know when he played with the Sabres he played every game.

Another awesome pick up by BB...keep the **** train rolling.

A master of diplomacy, ain't he? He should apply for a job at the United Nations after he's done with the Leafs. He'll give Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a run for their money in the smoothness department.

Mars comment around the 1:20 mark.

What a maroon.

Speaking of - what's up with Tampa Bay? Got skunked by the Isles last night.
