Glad he's back, at last. Hope things go well in his return. I'd hate to be the opponent who gives him a hard check for the first time in 9 months or so. You think that contact will be watched closely in his first dozen or so games back? I think so.

Throw me on the ice with him. I'll knock him around the boards.....that is, if I can catch him.

The cheap shot artists of the league are licking their chops right now. My greatest fear is that someone lays him out with a completely legal check and gets punished for it because he ends up hurt again. I don't think it will go down like that, but it is a fear.

Can't wait for his return. Everything else is a "wait and see."

So now he's looking for some "experimental contact?"

They better not treat him any differently than anybody else on the ice. I don't want to see anybody run him with any cheap stuff, but he's a hockey player and he will get hit. The league will look pathetic if it attempts to protect him by penalizing any contact with him.

I can't say I appreciated Asham's post-fight mocking, but I can appreciate he stuck up for a teammate.

Up until the Winter Classic hit, has anyone ever really "laid him out?" He's too fast.
Now as far as mucking it up in the corners, well I'd let Kunitz take that workload for awhile.

Just play in a fricken game and you'll get hit bro. If he's cleared for contact and has been practicing why is he not playing in actual games?

Considering hits like the Steckel one are so rare and he didn't seem to have any problems until then, so he probably will be ok. There is no way to avoid or prepare for fluky hits, just have to go out and play his game.

And, in other news, Alice Hurtsky ... I mean ... Ales Hemsky is back to his old self. He's out with another shoulder injury.

Hemsky, Havlat and Gaborik must've come from the seed of the same donor. All very talented but delicate and brittle. Should've been figure skaters.
