10:32 AM ET 10.14 | Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is watching Udinese's Romanian winger Gabriel Torje. Reports from his homeland dub the 21-year-old the "Romanian Messi" and claim the Gunners have been impressed with his progress at Udinese. Torje moved to the Italian side from Dynamo Bucharest for $4.9M last summer.

Wenger needs to learn to be obsessed with burly centerbacks, and whoever around the world is playing most like a young Patrick Viera.

And Eff you Liverpool - here I am almost (almost) defending you, enjoying your resurgence - and you spout off about how you deserve to be the British Real Madrid to ManU's Barca. Eff off 'Pool. Go walk alone.

whew! I didn't come 1st today. Order has been restored.

Even though Pootie's not Spanish, somehow his votes for Kaka got through. Amazing.

So, finally got around to watching the USMNT/Honduras game. Thoughts:

-Jozy played very well. Get off his arse. He didn't score, but did all the other stuff we've been asking him to do. Should've had the assist on Brek Shea's flub. Could've linked up better with Deuce. Don't discount the competition - the best defensive player on the field that night was #2 for Honduras, Chavez. All-in-all, firm performance from a dude finding his form.

-Deuce. Has to be second striker - much more valuable there than on the wing. The most important and potent offensive player we have.

-Brek Shea. I'm sold. His emergence on the left means Deuce plays up top. Shea was involved in the majority of good chances. Should've scored that sitter, almost scored on an early bullet header. Real deal.

-TIMMY! Chandler. More and more encouraging. Linked up very well with Shea. I don't care that he's not left-footed. He was critical to the build up on most of the good chances as well. That left side looks good for awhile.

-CB. Can Onyewu come back. Encouraging, I guess. Boca was average - expect more from that guy. Fiscal probably not at the Natty team level. Gonzo needs a shot. Like to see Boss invited to camp, or maybe be on the Olympic team. This is not a strong area right now.

-CM. I see why Beckerman keeps getting invited. He's slow and not nearly as athletic as either Edu or Bradley, but he is a better passer. Playing at RSL probably gets him more in the mode of quick passing more than Edu at a stagnant 'Gers side.
Edu played poorly overall - albeit out of position. He was very good at moving to spots where he was unavailable for the ball. Field awareness not his strength. Bradley didn't look that great in the sub appearance, but better than Edu. While Beckerman did enough in that game to continue to get looks, Bradley seems to better option going forward.

-Danny Williams. Couple good opportunities that he didn't convert. Seems more suited to play in the middle - would imagine that R-sided spot would be LD's anyway. Will Danny supplant Beckerman/Edu in the middle?

-I know it was 'only 1-0.' However, Deuce did score the disallowed header (not a foul) and Shea scores that sitter more often than not. Haven't watched Ecuador - will be less optimistic after that one, but we're making some progress offensively. Defensively - sloppy, especially late. Can't continue to allow that many good scoring opportunities, but that has been the case with the US for awhile.

-Would like to get viajero's take on Chavez, the burly CB for Honduras. Guy was the best defender on the pitch. Physical. He and Jozy had some nice tussles, he ragdolled Deuce late in the game as well. Positioning was good most of the night as well.

Is this supposed to take into account only the portion of their career spent in Spain?

Sorry about the Rhuss-esque War-and-Peace post above - those usually show up only after a few beers.

I would assume so. It is the best La Liga player.

To be honest, it's pretty much the same write-up.... just a different score.

DW wasn't as good, though.
