10:05 AM ET 10.15 | There is no truth to published reports that the Panthers are looking into acquiring Denver wide receiver Brandon Lloyd. Panthers general manager Marty Hurney said today, "We've had no trade discussions with any teams about any players." Head coach Ron Rivera said the same thing.

Take The Fifth, Bros.

And the Broncos fall farther into the black hole of non-competitiveness.

I think once they figure out what they have with Tebow, things will definitely be better. I think the next three or four games are really key for them. I don't think they're in a position to be competitive this season, and if Tebow doesn't pan out, they've got another few years of being bad.

So... let's see - make Tebow the starter then trade your best wide receiver.

Sounds like a formula to give the kid the best chance for success to me.

Yeah, that makes sense

John Elway was a great QB but is lost as a GM.

Morning Bro!

This would be a good pickup. A solid No.2 WR to go with Steve Smith.

October 15, 2011  10:45 AM ET

Sent you my picks for this weekend, Otis.

I guess all the denials mean the trade's a sure thing. Isn't that the way it works?

October 15, 2011  11:45 AM ET

they could trade Goodsen or Clausen straight up...

Ain't that the truth. Sort of like Matt Millan. Elway should go back to selling cars.

I was just talking about Brandon Lloyd right after Joshua Morgan got hurt. Why the 49ers, who drafted him, ever let him go, don't ask me. He is on of those receivers that has made his QB look good or better because of all the difficult catches he makes.

Elway is the Executive VP. Brian Xanders is the GM.

I really like Brandon Lloyd. Let's see if Cam Newton can get himself another major target.

Thats what GM suppose to say

Royal and Thomas will be back from injury next week, plus Decker has been impressive. Lloyd's year last year was more of a fluke year than anything, he is a free agent after the season, and Denver wants to run. I'd take either of the Panther's RB's for Lloyd and a pick or two.

That said, rumor is that Denver is asking a 3-5th round pick and trying to make the trade mid-season is about as smart as finishing 31st in the league one year and hiring the guy that finished 32nd... oh wait...

Carolina could actually have a solid receiving corps if they added Brandon Lloyd. He would be a great addition to Cam Newton.

But who would throw the ball to Newton and Lloyd?

Tell you what Broncos, we'll give you Clausen for Lloyd straight up. Lloyd would be a great #2 alongside Steve Smith. And John Fox gets back Clausen. Then he'll start Clausen in place of Tebow which will drive Broncos fans even more insane.
