QB controversy wide open in Washington

08:01 AM ET 10.17 | Buckle up, Redskins fans. As soon as Rex Grossman threw his fourth interception of the day against the Philadelphia Eagles, offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan turned to backup John Beck -- who hadn't played a snap in a regular season NFL game since Dec. 30, 2007 -- and said: "Let's go. You're in." ... Grossman, the author of 11 turnovers in his five games this season, stood on the sideline and kept his helmet squarely on his head. And both men began a week in which there is only one relevant question to Coach Mike Shanahan: Who's your quarterback? "I would never announce that right after a game," Shanahan said. Here we go. "Who knows what'll happen next?" Beck said.

Welcome back, Bad Rex. I knew you wouldn't be gone long.

Trade ya straight up for Rex. Sounds like a lose-lose proposition to me.

Grossman or Beck? What a glamorous and juicy controversy!

October 17, 2011  08:17 AM ET

It was almost too good to last. One bad game doesn't ruin a season, but one bad coaching decision could. Redskins don't need this kind of controversy this early in the season. Stick with your starter one more week and see if he can turn it around.

Guys you're still in 2nd place in the NFC East, a bit quick on the panic button isn't it?

All those Super Bowl dreams... Crushed!!!

The search for the next Jeff George continues.

Lots of football still to play Otis and they are only a game back of the Gmen

They should've taken Rex out before halftime....

Still don't know why they think they can win an a game with him throwing so much.

Totally abandoned the run.

Who said "when you have two QBs, you don't have any QBs" or something to that effect? Sigh.

It was the way he threw the pics... Typical Grossman... No receivers anywhere in the vicinity of his passes... Into double coverage... No pressure when he threw them... In the red zone... He killed us.
