08:21 AM ET 10.17 | Mike Babcock admitted that Fabian Brunnstrom was in a tough spot, though the coach still sees Brunnstrom cracking the lineup. [Brunnstrom] watched from the sidelines for a fourth straight game when the Red Wings took on the Wild Saturday at Xcel Energy Center, but it still beat what he went through the past two years. Brunnstrom earned a contract with the Wings after using the exhibition season to demonstrate he can skate, score and be responsible defensively. Now he just needs a schedule that features more than two games a week. ... "Of course I want to play. That's my goal. But last two years I've been so miserable," he said. "But now I feel good, like I'm on a great team with great guys."

Good luck cracking the lineup of a 4-0 team, Fabian.

True. Especially if he's not making a statement for himself on the ice. I know I haven't missed him.

Fabian?

Shouldn't he be in Branson, Missouri by now?

October 17, 2011  10:05 AM ET

Get paid for doing nothing?? OK!

The guy did look good in preseason, but as has been stated, things are flowing well right now. Right now the Wings have a glut of forwards and he's the newbie. He'll get in eventually, they'll probably be resting Holmstrom and his knees a bit this year.

Is he Cody Franson's cousin, or long lost twin perhaps?

Damn you, again! ;)

Don't worry, Fabian. The AARP endorsed team known as the Red Wings will have plenty of openings before too long. Can you put a guy on IR for excessive wheezing? ;))

That's cruel. But you may be right. Lidstrom is old enough to be his own defensive partner!

Just stirring the pot a little ;)

Stir the pot? You? Unheard of! But again, you may have a point. I heard a rumor they may try to lure Chelios back? But that's just a rumor. :-)

OK. You've succeeded. Now, let's move on. How about them Leafs?

They can dump Bertuzzi, he's looking old and slow.

October 17, 2011  11:51 AM ET

Damn! Now that the Leafs have removed themselves from the discussions (thanks to Celine and the Kessel), we are forced to turn our attention to other team's deficiencies.

I don't think so. He looked fine playing the Canucks the other night.

I think his physical play doesn't hurt either.

Yup...They are well on their way to an 82-0 record for a point total of164 and home ice right through the Cup finals...(huge smile on face while typing previous blurb).

It's a long season and while Kessel and Dion have looked great we Leaf fans are also aware that if the team is to compete every game then they had better do better than have Kessle have 50% of their goals and be in on 80% of the team's scoring. We also have not lost sight of the fact that they have yet to play on the road or against a playoff contender...however, they certainly have improved the line-up over last year and it's good to see Kessel playing 100% healthy and making plays at both ends of the ice...now, speaking of deficiencies...how about those Habs?

If Gretzky saw this comment, he'd burst out laughing.
