McNabb on verge of irrelevance

08:04 AM ET 10.18 | While Vikings fans debate the idea of starting the Christian Ponder era, Donovan McNabb has fallen out of favor in another city. Remember way back on Nov. 17, 2002? Donovan McNabb led the Eagles to a 38-14 trouncing of the Cardinals, which wasn't that big a deal until after the game, when you found out that he had broken his ankle on the third play of the game, and still managed to throw four touchdown passes. Whatever happened to that guy? Obviously, Donovan wore out his welcome [in Philadelphia] a long, long time ago. ... And now, McNabb is just about the saddest case in the NFL. He stumbles around in purple like DeNiro at the end of Raging Bull, out of touch with what he has become -- an incompetent shadow of his former self.

His job was to be a placeholder until Ponder was ready. So far, mission accomplished.
Oddly, he did Ponder a big favor. By sucking royally, he allowed Ponder the opportunity to look great in comparison. Well done, old man, even if that's not what you were trying to do.
No, go have a bowl of soup.

He did. But the scribes in Philly seem to have axes yet to grind.

Morning, Mangler. I really wanted Miami to win, just so we could all join in a chorus of Jets Suck, but once again the Fish let me down.

So if the headline is true, doesn't make the whole article irrelevant?

remember they beat a win less team with a new QB starting, I grudgingly have to give the Dirty Sanchez some credit, he did look good at times in the second half.
