08:20 AM ET 10.18 | According to an online poll, Denard Robinson should not only start, but also play without fear of being benched. There is a vocal group of fans who believe the Wolverines would be better off going with [Devin Gardner] at quarterback while using Robinson in a more versatile role as a receiver/running back/wildcat quarterback. ... Although Hoke admitted after Saturday's 28-14 loss at Michigan State that Gardner is a more accurate passer than Robinson at times, the coach scoffed at the notion that a quarterback change was viable. "They have an opinion," Hoke said when asked about fans who want to see Gardner more. "It doesn't carry much weight, but they have an opinion."

That group of fans is simply crazy. SDSU would have beaten tSUN without DR, and by more than one score.

I thought the Qb switching destroyed Michigan flow on offense.

Robinson's passing game was atrocious last Saturday,, and that is not an opinion, that is a fact.

No Heisman for Michigan this time. Maybe if Denard just ran the ball every time he might at least still be a candidate.

Robindson gives tghe Michigan the best chance to win. End of story

Van, you know we don't deal in facts here on FN. Only opinions and innuendos!

No. Denard is a really bad QB, he throws a 50/50 ball and that's it. He can't hit the intermediary passes and has no touch

He is a bad passer but not a bad QB. He has been the entire Michigan offense for the last 2 years, good or bad.

His passing was atrocious on the 10th of September too. People seem to neglect the fact it took 5 Notre Dame turnovers and a Michigan fumble while getting stuffed from the 1 on 3rd down that bounced into Denards hands, to beat us. They were down 24-7 going into the 4th quarter and every bounce went their way. I just rewatched the game finally and it is absurd, it's like we are cursed against that team. Rees fumbling without prompting on the 4yd line on first and goal?? The previously mentioned fumble for a score? Ugh.Denard was horrible all day until he started lofting wounded ducks and Gary Gray refused to turn around and play the ball.

I agree the ND's CBs have as much to do with the TDs in those games as DR does. IMO his lack of passing ability is made up for his athleticism and all the things that go with it.

Tommy has come a long way in just a short time,, he is going to pick USC apart and send them home in tears.

I had predicted that UM's offense would not be as good as before when Hoke was planning to use him in a pro-style O. Hoke saw early on that Shoelace was way too far down on the learning curve, so he put him back in the spread... a wily move. However, chance of injury is high when DR runs, so Hoke is trying to salvage some passing offense by inserting Gardner. But, DG is very green, so the beat goes on. One thing for sure, DR is a long way from being a passing QB,

Don't you think that stunts Michigan's offensive growth in the long term though?

Watching the aftereffects of first no Harvin (not a prototype WR) and then no Tebow (not a prototype QB), YES. Addazio got away with a lot of stupid playcalls because they were so good. However, after DR is gone you go back to the Pro style offense. I expect something similar when Demps, Rainey, and all of these spread WRs are gone for UF.

Yah, but tSUN does not have the O-line or the WR/TE group to survive against anyone in a normal offense. With DR running well they can hang with almost any team in the country. ND would have buried tSUN by 25 if they had some dropback scrub in the game...

Bama and LSU would eat DR up.

Get over it. You lost. Stuff happens in every game. I could point to specifics in almost every game Michigan has lost the last 3 years but that isn't going to change the fact that they lost. Even the msu game. Fourth and one inside the ten yard line and they take a sack. Gholston punching a guy in the face and not getting ejected. The horrible weather conditions. With all that, they still got the ball back with five minutes to play down by 7. Tough loss, they could've won, but they didn't. Grow up.

You predicted it, uh? Sure thing genius. Nice grasp of the obvious in the rest of your comment.
