08:05 AM ET 10.20 | Tarvaris Jackson has reportedly been able to play catch this week, but throwing against a defense may be some time off. [Jackson] was on the practice field Wednesday, but it was backup quarterback Charlie Whitehurst the Seahawks were preparing to start Sunday in Cleveland. "We've got to get Charlie ready to play," coach Pete Carroll said. That was the strongest indication of Seattle's plans at quarterback. Jackson is recovering from a high-grade strain of his right pectoral muscle, and while he is coming back quicker than initial estimates by the Seahawks' trainers, there's no firm timeline for him to return in time for Sunday's game.

What a happy camper Pete is. Not a good NFL coach, but a happy guy.

The Water Foul have two backup QBs, but they still need to bring in a starter.

They could have had Carson Palmer. Does anyone think that Seattle will finish with a better record than Oakland?

Time for quarterback dumpster diving, Pete.

So why didn't Pete Carroll go after Carson Palmer?

Because only one team was stupid enough to give up 2, #1 draft picks.

Why bring in a third backup? Besides, they got outbid. No way they match that ridiculous Oakland offer.

I'd take a solid starter over a draft pick, most of the time. We'll have to see what Palmer's got left in the tank, but I'm thinking he could be the missing piece that turns Oakland back into a real contender.
