08:44 AM ET 10.20 | Perhaps this is a week that Geno Smith throws for at least 500 yards. On paper it sure looks likely. The Syracuse pass defense is ranked 112th in the country, and will meet Smith and the West Virginia offense just as they are hitting stride. Passing yards this year: vs. Marshall: 249, vs. Norfolk State: 431, vs. Maryland: 388, vs. LSU: 463, vs. Bowling Green: 283, vs. Connecticut: 469. Add in that this week's game for West Virginia is sure to serve as another revenge game. Smith had one of his rougher games a year ago against Syracuse, throwing three interceptions by halftime in an eventual 19-14 loss. While Smith said [Tuesday] the team is beyond its loss last year and has only faint memories, this team wants to win. And win big.

They moved the ball at will, except across the goal line a lot, go figure.Bend but do not break.

I understand that, but a #1 team should not be giving up that many yards

Wish these guys had TAMU on the schedule....read where 3 QB's have a career days against A & M this year, including at least 1 500 yd passer I know well.

Bubububut, aggie is an SEC defense now so that can't be right.

QUOTE(#3):

Delusional. Maybe 500 yards TOTAL offense.

They've surpassed 500 yards in offense already this season. 500 yards through the air is not out of reach for this kid (although the Mountaineers are likely just focused on winning, not how much O they amass). Wait til this offense gets cranking in high gear (i.e. playing two consistet halves).

Well since the game is Friday I would say 500 is possible in the back yard.
