Hamilton misses workout, but will play Game 3

08:45 AM ET 10.22 | The Rangers will not take Josh Hamilton out of the field when the World Series moves to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on Saturday. Manager Ron Washington said he will leave Hamilton, who has been bothered by a sore groin, in center field for Game 3. "He's playing the outfield," Washington said. "I read where people wanted me to put him on the bench. They wanted him on the bench, out [of] the lineup. We've got five games left. I'm playing Josh. I'm not changing anything." Washington said he told Hamilton to take Friday off and rest. It's the second time this postseason the Rangers have told Hamilton to take a workout day off to rest the groin.

Too bad. I had another joke about how the Rangers invitation to have the kid whose dad died throw a ball to Hamilton was kinda like inviting Dan Wheldon's widow and kids back to the track to help repaint the wall where he crashed, but I guess I'll have to save that one for another day.
