Temple coach Al Golden withdrew his name from consideration for the opening at UCLA and will remain with the Owls. Golden, 5-19 in his first two years at Temple, interviewed twice for the job that opened after the Bruins fired Karl Dorrell. In a statement from Temple yesterday, Golden said he was "flattered" to have been contacted by UCLA but looked forward to a bright future at Temple.

This is starting to look like a "whose left" deal. When the search started, there was an impressive list of candidates. Slowly but surely, the really proven ones have said "thanks, but no thanks." Gotta wonder whats going on to turn people off.

Temple over UCLA? Something is VERY rotten in Westwood.

They have to recruit in the same state as USC and Cal

They have to play in the hardest conference in the country (before the SEC fans scream, just ask Tennessee)

...and they can't attract a coach from a developed program. Go figure.

...there's still Nieuheisel...

Maybe they can gate dave Wannstedt to take the job.

ROTFLMAO. He goes 5-19 at Temple and interviews twice for the UCLA job? Well, you know, Guerrero has to appear unbiased in who he interviews. It's all moot, anyway, he made the right hire in Neuheisel.
