Players voice concerns on being miked

10:51 AM ET 10.23 | Old gully. Springer. Gravy. Gutter. Eagle. Pistol. Sword. You might see a few of those things come to your door on Halloween night, but they also happen to be some of the calls Tom Brady made at the line of scrimmage against the Cowboys last Sunday. The terms were clearly audible on the television broadcast, thanks to the league's new policy of placing microphones on centers or both guards this season. The policy is going over with players and coaches about as well as Dennis Miller's turn in the Monday night booth did with viewers. Both the Competition Committee and the full ownership group had questions about the policy during the recent fall meeting in Houston, because the reaction hasn't been positive among the rank and file. At all. "I think something needs to be done about it, I really do," said Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

TV revenue is where the bucks come from. Like it or not, they will call the shots. The way money works.

What is next, each player is going to have an assistant coach with a microphone system telling when to run left or right. Enough is enough.

Didn't they say that the mikes were only for NFL Films, and wouldn't feature in the regular broadcasts of the game?

I like hearing the players chatter, but the league should be a little more respectful about it. They took away draft picks when Belichek tried to capture signals. Now he just has to set his tivo.

"Gravy" is going to come to my door on Halloween? Can we make that "pizza" instead? If I'm going to get gravy, I want it with turkey or meat loaf, and mashed potatoes, not just, like, a bowl of gravy.

Oh my! Do ya thinks that racial slurs and four letters words are being picked up as well? The NFL has a huge racial problem right now and if they don't do something soon the game will continue to get uglier and people will be hurt. I mean a black guy taunting and injured white player is stooping to lows never before seen. I think Goodall is in hiding on this one.

My friends and I were you think the players call each other names in the huddle? "what were you thinking ****?" "get to the ball you fat ****!" "Hey, you dropped another pass you f-face!" maybe now we'll know!
