Johnson too out of shape to perform?

08:04 AM ET 10.24 | Eighteen yards. Chris Johnson insisted he is not the problem in the running game. Teammates said the same thing after the Tennessee Titans' Sunday's embarrassing 41-7 loss to Houston Texans. But sources have told TitanInsider that Johnson's conditioning when he ended his holdout and reported to the team was perhaps not as good as it needed to be, and that that conditioning issue could be a factor in why the running back has been having problems getting going this season. No doubt, something is amiss with the Titans' $53 million man after a 10-carry, 18-yard effort in Sunday's loss. The Titans had already entered the day dead last in the NFL in rushing, and Sunday's team performance of 53 yards on 15 carries won't change that.

Really, Titans?

When the Johnson is unable to perform...damn!

The Texans win the division by default. Nobody else wants it.

Appears so...

The 41 part isn't completely Johnson's fault, but the 7 part sure is.

The Titans just doomed Houston to have Kubiak for another 3 years. Bad coach for a team that will win a horrible division.

The 41 was a group effort on defense. Spread quite evenly.

Looking at the scores from Sunday, looks like I stunk it up in my office pool this weekend.

O Line sucks in Titan land.

The offense can't stay on the field. The defense is bound to wear down. Not that they're anything to cheer about before they wear down, but still ...

It wouldn't be the first time a pro athlete took his foot off the gas after he got his big payday.

Johnson is half a Haynesworth in body mass and contract value, but he's the whole Al-chilada when it comes to choking.

Nope, not at all.

Pity it never works that way.

In my opinion this is a direct result of his holdout. Happens a lot to players when they miss a significant part of training camp.

Well put.

Watch he has this slow starts, then burns up the league over the final 5 games, then demands a new contract again in the off season.
