When asked about his future, Wilson goes surfing

08:09 AM ET 10.24 | For the time being, C.J. Wilson has more pressing concerns. [Wilson] is well aware his scheduled start in Game 5 of the World Series could be his last in a Texas Rangers uniform. But his impending free agency is the furthest thing from Wilson's mind. ... Wilson is trying to pay as little attention to that as possible. "As soon as the question gets up, I start thinking about something else," he said. "I don't even pay attention to it. I heard a story that somebody asked Tony (La Russa) about what he's doing next year, and he went like this (putting his fingers in his ears). So I kind of do the same thing, but I just picture myself surfing or whatever, doing something else."

cj matched carpenter last time out....me thinks he will do it again...making game 5 a bullpen vs bullpen affair....which should favor the rangers....

With this post season hes played himself onto the NYY roster.

to avoid stress, best thing its to put your mind in blank!!

October 24, 2011  01:04 PM ET

words aren't the ones who will get you where you would like to be but rather your record and performs at the mound on dayly basis this player has prove that he could fit at any franchise!!

October 24, 2011  01:10 PM ET

rangers can't said that they would be unable to sign him, if his current team refuses to acknowledge the talent that wilson has developed in the rangers rotation, odviously if this team doesn't need him any more then wilson can hit the road, either the phillies, yankees, boston, or detroit any of those teams would give him at least five year contract!!!

October 24, 2011  01:20 PM ET

the way napoli has being playing the whole season plus the post-season, can he get a big deal five years 100 millions deal? or he will continue being the mop player with the rangers? the rangers should lock him once and for all, give him five years deal and this franchise should value his talent and skills by given him the best deal that he really deserve, in california he prove that he could hit 25 homeruns but also he prove that he couldn't get rid off the injuried rash when he use to play with his old team, in texas has prove the heat its really good for his health and his conssistancy at the plate offcourse health does plays a hugh role in this sport, had mike napoli continue playing with the halos he would continue with all those type of injuries that everybody knows!!

October 24, 2011  01:25 PM ET

if the rangers are loaded with propects pitchers then they don't have to sign wilson to a long term deal, would wilson take a two years / 30million deal from the rangers? could the rangers make that kind of offer to this pitcher?

October 24, 2011  01:36 PM ET

does the cubs are trying to lure out maddux from the rangers if so can they actually do that? in other words i hear the red sox are working a deal between the blue jays for farrell their previus ptching coach, can they do that without any problem? i mean i thought that once the individual has being signed to a certain type of a deal any other franchise should respect that type of agreement, about theo epstein deal the red sox were the ones who didn't want their GM any more even the owner henry he was loud and clear that he didn't need theo in the red sox organization, but on the jays manager shouldn't be aprove at all unless the jays don't want him as their manager any more!!

October 24, 2011  01:44 PM ET

all in all, it seems as if anybody can do whatever they pleased, trade players its normal, lureout GMS,pitching coaches, managers, and so on it seems odd, if the red sox want to have back farrell in their team why they did let him go in first place? the answer its simple this team rejects to acknowledge the good experience that farrell have in other words boston refuse to pay in the past to farrell demands!!

October 24, 2011  01:47 PM ET

if for whatever reason, wilson can't have great seasons as he has being having in rangers uniform, would the team who sign him should have problems with his performers in the mound? because we all know wilson will have a different pitching coach!!

October 24, 2011  01:50 PM ET

perhaps the red sox don't have to trade lackey to any team any more, all what they have to do its sign budd black as a lackey perssonal pitching coach, lets not forget that the padres didn't offer any deal to budd black as a manager any more!!

October 24, 2011  01:51 PM ET

does hamilton its really injuried? if so why does he still in the lineup? everything its odd, when a player its injuried shouldn't be playing at all plain and simple!!

October 24, 2011  01:55 PM ET

the angels are without any GM till now the search continue, last thing a hear that they were trying to lureout freidman from the rays, but i doubt that deal could really happen, wonder why the halos wouldn't try to bring bill stonman back to the GM position? this guy has proved to the angels that he can do a great job as a GM!!

October 24, 2011  01:57 PM ET

the angels will need a GM in order for the franchise to be able to sign any free agent available!!

October 24, 2011  01:59 PM ET

if pujols was available but because the angels are GMless, they will be left out just as it happens last year!!

October 24, 2011  02:00 PM ET

it won't surprise me if the angels turn to mike sciocia and make him their GM, but the only problem would be another open hole in the manager spot!!
