08:18 AM ET 10.24 | His Colorado teammates have a hunch Gabriel Landeskog won't be sent back to junior. The rave notices continue to come in for [Landeskog]. No less a hockey authority than former Stanley Cup-winning coach Ken Hitchcock said Landeskog reminds him of another former Swedish Avs forward. "I've seen him play twice now live. He reminds me so much of Peter Forsberg in his ability to maneuver in small spaces," said Hitchcock, who remains employed by the Columbus Blue Jackets as a consultant. "His strength and quickness in small spaces -- I'm very impressed." Like water off a freshly waxed car, such praise rolls right off Landeskog. He keeps a textbook Nordic reserve and isn't about to get too confident after only eight NHL games.

So long as no-one mentions the word 'comeback', I don't seeing Forsberg's name up there.

Nice praise for the kid, too.

I think such praise is a little premature at this stage. He's a keeper for sure but, we should know by the All Star break if such comparisons are warranted.

The kid can definitely play the game...Hope he can keep it going for the whole season.

I don't see his picture up there, either.

I completely agree. He's great to watch, but he needs a heckuva lot more seasoning before we start hanging a floppy Foppa hat on his head.

I'm glad to see Varly doing good for you AvsMan. Great kid and I hope the nagging injuries leave him alone this year. When he's healthy he's fantastic. BTW, thanks for Tomas, he's looking good .

Happy to help. We weren't really using him, anyway. Except to hang coats on in the locker room. And he made a pretty decent doorstop.

I was very skeptical about Varlamov, and still am to a point, but so far he is looking good, and Giggy has held up his end of the bargain, as well!

I love that... Stevie doesn't even give an Alfred E. Neuman impersonation as he skates off!

If Landeskog can learn some of Forsberg's grit, he'll definitely be a top star. As good as Forsberg?? We can hope, but that's a pretty high star to reach for.
