Berrian may be done with Vikings

08:06 AM ET 10.25 | The positive signs this past weekend in Minnesota didn't exactly sweep all of Leslie Frazier's troubles away. Frazier's assessment of receiver Bernard Berrian was also ambiguous. Berrian was made inactive for Sunday's game with Green Bay, a decision Frazier made at some point over the weekend. And while the head coach won't address specifics as to what transpired, his comments and body language today give off strong indications that Berrian's time in Minneapolis is nearing its end. "There are some things we need to sit down and talk to Bernard about later [Monday]," Frazier said. "And then we'll make a decision on how we want to handle things going forward. But he and I are going to sit down and talk first."

Clean out your locker and bring your playbook to the meeting

THAT didn't take long. Guess leaving the Bears was not that good a thing, huh?

It would be wise to give Ponder all the targets they can, and then figure out where the chemistry works and where it doesn't. The QB-WR relationship is more important than the HC-WR relationship.

Would staying with the Bears have been all that much better?

7 catches for 91 yards... for the season?

October 25, 2011  08:22 AM ET

Bye Bye Bernard.

If Vince Wilfork were a bit more fleet of foot, he'd have more yardage than that on his two picks.

Two words: Donovan McNabb.

Hell - I thought he did!

Come on in, Crash, and shut the door. You know, this is the toughest job a manager has, but the organization has decided to make a change ...

October 25, 2011  08:28 AM ET

He'll just go get wide open somewhere else.

From the Wikipedia article on Bernard Berrian:

"He is friends with Chad Ochocinco and appeared occasionaly on his dating show Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch"

I really don't know what to make of that.

I hope Berrian didn't already buy his ticket for LA. Looks like the Vikes won't be taking him along.

Actually, he wasn't that terrible for Chicago. I wouldn't say he was #1 receiver material, but he made some very clutch catches in some big games. He chose to follow the money, and he certainly wasn't going to get what he thought he was worth from Jerry Angelo.

October 25, 2011  08:52 AM ET

Ponder looked pretty decent Sunday but if he don't have any decent receivers he will suffer big time

And they came to this decision AFTER letting Sidney Rice walk?

And trading a third-round pick for Randy Moss and then cutting him 3 weeks later?

"Leslie? Zygy? You both on the line? Yeah, this is Bill Belichick. Hey, I hear you're in a bind for receivers. I'd like to help you out. How would you like to trade a second round pick for a sure thing? Yeah, Chad. Great. I'll have them get started on the paperwork right away...."

Hey... BB and McRibb can start a new team in LA... What would their team name be?

October 25, 2011  09:27 AM ET

Let's see......injury-prone, can only run fly routes, one of Ocho's advisors on his Ultimate Catch show.....those are reasons to release Berrian.

I think "BB and McRibb" would be a good name for a ribs and barbeque place.
