Kelly: Notre Dame 'doesn't know how to win'

08:21 AM ET 10.25 | Chris Galippo wound up apologizing for his criticism of Notre Dame, but Brian Kelly had some harsh words, too. Notre Dame's chances of returning to a BCS bowl faded to practical nonexistence this past weekend with a 31-17 loss to rival USC. The Fighting Irish once again had a turnover problem that immediately contributed to Trojan points. Sitting down on Versus' "College Football Talk," [Kelly] talks about his team's struggles. In three losses this season, the Irish have turned the ball over 13 times, and have had problems holding on to the pigskin in wins. The lack of focus and execution from Notre Dame caused Kelly to go so far as to say his team "doesn't know how to win."

Maybe Kelly needs to look @ the man in the mirror. Hoping he's throwing himself and coach staff under the bus along with the players.

If someone doesn't know how to do something you are supposed to TEACH them! They are in school ya know...at least Van, Piratey, etal claim they attend class.

Van and Piratey attend classes, good for them.

I figured one of you smart a.s.s.e.s would come back with that after I read it!

Yep, and I bet they have 1 loss in the stretch of Navy, Wake & Maryland as well.

If they lose to one of those.....

Why is this news. ND hasn't figured out how to win for a while now. Leadership reflects attitude.

Navy has set rushing records versus Notre Dame over the last 5 years.

Good point brotha. But AF beat Navy and the Irish manhandled the Falcons.

Yep and Wake and Maryland are on the road......w/ ND's propensitity for turnovers, I would expct them to spit the bit one more time in a road game.

Could be wrong, but I think they are a 5 loss team this year.

Kelly, isn't your job to teach them how to win? Nice to pass the blame to the kids but, in my mind, you are the root problem - your coaching and game plans stink the joint; bringing Christ to even handle the ball was asking for it and you got it! That kid looks worst in the field than a deer in front of the headlights....Right now, you are on par with Bob Davie and sinking lower!!!
