Persa says he'll play, Fitzgerald less certain

08:26 AM ET 10.25 | Northwestern quarterback Dan Persa is questionable for Saturday's game at Indiana with turf toe in his left foot -- unless you ask him. [Pat Fitzgerald] said Persa is wearing a walking boot. He should know more about Persa's condition Thursday, when the Wildcats release their weekly injury report. Persa's injury is not on the same foot as his repaired Achilles tendon. Fitzgerald said Persa's injury is basically a sprained joint in the toe. He injured it during the Wildcats' 34-24 loss to Penn State on Saturday when a Nittany Lion tackled Persa and held on to his foot as he went down. "He said he feels much better [after Monday's practice]," Fitzgerald said. "I asked him how he felt, and he said that he would play. So it's the same old Dan."

Looks like the mods were so excited about the world series they put the CFB topics in the MLB group.

Yes I am. Probably the only Cardie bird fan in Texas...but I was one a long time before the Rangers even existed. If it were any team besides the Cards, I'd pull for the Rangers. I like Nolan Ryan a lot.

If they can load the bases and/or get that many runners in scoring position...and can't get them home...they deserve to lose. Wimpy bats with RISP!

I grew up sitting on the porch with my dad, listening to Jack Buck call the games on KURM. I've been to many games in both Busch Stadiums.........I thought the team quit on Larussa this year, like they did last year. I was surprised when they made the playoffs.......wish they would win it but have my doubts now Carp is spent and they are behind.

IMO, they need to sign Albert and change managers.....

My Cardinal fanaticism goes back even further. (I know. I'll say I'm old before 0-6, OT, Default, JRM etal get a chance.) Have a foul ball I got at a game at the old, old stadium signed by Harry Carey when he announced for the Cards...long before he did for the Cubs.

I'm a lifer Card also, and I also feel that LaRussa is the king of over-managers. I hope they sign Pujols, but if he leaves, I won't be mad at him.

That's cool......when I was 9, our local cable picked up WTBS. Suddenly, I had access to 162 Atlanta Braves games a year. I became a HUGE Atlanta fan.....listed to Skip Carey call a thousand games on TV & can still name the starting line-up of the 1982 team that only won 74 games.

Dad took me to St. Lous every year for a Braves series....even went to Atlanta for a St. Louis series a few times. Harry Carey was great, so was his son, Skip. I was a rabid MLB fan until the strike....I've never come back to the sport nearly to the level I was before that......

Me, too......Albert is the best player in baseball and if St Lous doesn't sign him I'll still be a fan....as long as he doesn't go to the cubs!! :-)

Pujols will be a Ranger next season. After Sat night he is thinking, "I can play in a park like this? :)"

I think that they should test Pujols for steroids or HGH; something just doesn't look right about him.
