Plenty of NBA players are staying in shape during the NBA lockout by playing overseas. The change in leagues seems to be helping out former Celtic Brian Scalabrine, who is playing in Italy with Benetton Treviso of Serie A. [A recent highlight video], taken from a recent game against Avellino, shows Scal tearing it up. He's grabbing rebounds and knocking down long-range jumpers with ease. The European style seems to suit him so well, one would wonder whether he will think about staying abroad if and when the NBA can agree on a new deal.

His game is more suited for that style of play in the Euro league. Fundamentally sound players can thrive in the Euro league because the system is not built for guys that are better with individual skills. Kobe will struggle with the Euro system, Gasol will flourish because he's more of a fundamental type of player and a blend of exceptional skill sets. Maybe with this much success riding for Scal in Europe he'll stay; its better than riding the bench in the states.
