08:14 AM ET 10.26 | Mizzou will soon breathe new life into conference realignment talk. [Brady Deaton] suggested he hoped to reveal Mizzou's future conference address in "days or possibly a week or two." Deaton -- in both an interview on Columbia radio station KFRU-AM and in conversations with newspaper reporters in the station lobby before and after the broadcast -- stated Missouri's view of whether to pursue admission to the Southeastern Conference to remain in the Big 12 Conference have coalesced around a probable choice. "We've reached firmness in where we are headed," Deaton said. ... Deaton did not reveal that probable choice, but his comments revealed continuing and long-standing concern over the viability of the Big 12 Conference.

Big Mo to the SEC east.

I guess since the SEC doesn't have a number in their name, to keep the same level of 'screwed-up-edness" as the others (with the exception of the 12-Packers), the SEC will have to put Missouri into the East - just to keep up with the unspoken-but-obvously required conference-weirdness rules.

Mizzou didnt have a choice but to go EAST...

There was a part of me that wanted Mizzou in the west with the possibility they would become UTK's permanent SECw opponent. Bama year in and out is getting ugly for the Orange.

Need to add Clemson to make it ever more interesting.

Clemson's mascot is the Flying Dabo's........not sure how that makes the SEC more interesting!

FWIW, this will make Arky basketball more interesting

Do we know for a fact that Mizzou will be moving to the east?

Yes... only logical choice... BAMA UTk UGA and Aubie rivalry is too precious to mess with

Logic doesn't play as big a role as we might think. I had also heard that Auburn would move to the East. All a guessing game at this point.

So are they gonna keep it simple and make Mizzou and TAMU yearly opponents?

I think you will see Missouri and Arkansas become yearly opponents since they are border states. Even though A&M and Mizzou are coming from the Big 12, they are not really traditional rivals. Arkansas and Mizzou would create more interest I think.
