The fascination about how long Wednesday's Notre Dame football practice went beyond its normal parameters and how much more physical pounding took place abruptly ended when Brian Kelly uttered a seemingly benign nine-letter word. JumboTron. At Notre Dame, it's more than a videoboard or potential videoboard. It's a ticking, rabid, malignant debate. ... And one that Kelly sounded hell-bent on winning Wednesday after practice. He wants it in Notre Dame Stadium by next year, and synthetic Field Turf, too, another proposed improvement that makes traditionalists cringe. "I hope that we continue to move forward with an incredible atmosphere in there," said Kelly.

I'm 65 years old and have followed ND football since the 1950s. This Kelly guy is among the worst coaches we've had (I know - Devine, Davies, Weis, et.al but......). The way he verbally abuses his players is sickening. Coaching, at every level, involves teaching -- before, during and after a game. This clown clearly doesn't know how to do that. Synthetic turk and a Jumbotron before next season? How about a new coach instead.
