The best shot at landing Dwight? L.A.

08:04 AM ET 10.28 | If or when the NBA begins again, so, too, will the rumblings about where Dwight Howard might land -- and Los Angeles will be atop that list. Howard to the Lakers for Andrew Bynum and two first-round picks: This has been the most rumored deal in various incarnations, and it hasn't happened because Jim Buss doesn't want to trade Bynum anywhere, for anyone. But with new coach Mike Brown on the sidelines and Kobe Bryant finally starting to show some wear and tear, now is the time. The Magic can't do any better than this. They get back the only center who can stay in a discussion with Howard, allowing them the flexibility to continue to play inside-out or entirely rebuild their roster around Bynum, whose health issues are definitely a concern.

They could do WAY better than this! Fire their awful GM, and their porn star look alike joke of a coach, then focus on building a team that Dwight actually wants to play for! He wants to stay in Orlando, he just doesn't want to play for two guys that are completely clueless on how to win at this level.

Does it matter anymore really? The NBA is finished. It has become a joke as a sports league. Everything is rigged worse than the WWE matches. Hell even the WWE refs look more legit than any NBA ref.

I agree completely. And all we have to do is wait and read a bazillion articles about where he's going for the next year and pretend we care.
One thing is for sure, he won't be going to any team that isn't an immediate contender so that pretty much leaves about 28 out of the 32 teams out of the running no matter how much money they have.

Please, you're talking about the greatest franchise in the leagues history. Nothing is a given, especially since we don't know how the lockout will change the rules, but if anybody has a better chance than another it's the Lakers. The only pipe dream you'll ever know is the Heat winning one with the Queen on their team.

You are so right, the league is fixed! What I don't understand is why the league wants to force these guys to stay on their old teams when they become free agents by allowing them to offer the highest contracts. The reason the NBA was so popular last year was because of change. People were curious to see how the Heat would gel, how the Knicks would fair and so on. Jersey sales were up as well as the ratings. I think it would be good if Dwight goes via trade or free agency it would create more excitement about this post-lockout league. I had thoughts of not watching the NBA after this is settled, but Howard leaving would spark my interest... Especially if he lands on the Knicks!
