08:16 AM ET 10.28 | Barring a change of heart before signing a national letter of intent, Will Muschamp has earned a win before the weekend. Two days after losing sophomore TE Gerald Christian in a transfer, the Gators picked up a commitment from Land O' Lakes prospect Kent Taylor. Taylor is ranked the No. 1 tight end in America by Rivals and Scout. Taylor's pledge pushes the Gators' upcoming signing class to 17. They can sign 25 players next year. Rivals.com reported that Taylor visited Penn State in December and plans to visit Alabama for the LSU game next month. He has offers from those schools and a long list of others. No player's commitment is binding until he signs a national letter of intent or enrolls early with a football scholarship.

It's always nice to get a top TE prospect, but can Muschamp coach the kid up to be a good player?

He's definitely depressed about that. Didn't give reasons for the MIA.
