10:09 AM ET 10.29 | The NFL Players Association is using stall tactics to avoid human growth hormone testing, two influential lawmakers said in a letter sent yesterday to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and union executive director DeMaurice Smith. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland, the panel's ranking Democrat, said they were frustrated that no progress has been made to implement HGH testing.

Players Association be damned, it's the coaching fraternity that's worried about "growth hormones". For example - Sex Rexy and Andy Reed.

The government is complaining that no progress is being made? Really? Pot, meet Kettle. If they could invent Brain Growth Hormone, these clowns in Washington would be the ones who need it most.

When you talk about Sexy Rexy, are you talking about Rex Grossman? To tell the truth, I think poor Rex could use some HGH.

I think its time the NFL just started the testing. Of course the players would be instructed not to show up for practice and all hell would break loose, but its time they put this in place, the NFLPA have stalled long enough, they must know something.

the big question is who will test the testers??? And who will monitor the results of the tests of the testers????

Once again... Politicians providing value for our dollars.

Read yesterday that they are going to be in session just over 100 days next year - down from 150 days two years ago.

Kind of like getting a 20 pack of Cokes for the price of 24.

My condolences, Otis.

Politicians doing less is usually a case of addition by subtraction. I celebrate their sloth.

There ya go. It is all BS from the owners on down.
The NFL is in control of all tests and results and what to do ( hehehe) with them. Same as MLB. How many of those 103 steroid MLB users missed one minute or were tattled on ( except Arod )? None. and never will be.
Just PR by the league. Look, HGH would have to be injected within two days prior to a random test that the league would then do nothing publicly about.

Exactly what gives Congress the right to spend my tax money to monitor drug use in sports. Micro-management at the tax payer expense. Congress is one arrogant corrupt pile of feces, no one likes them yet somehow they all get re-elected. Ever wonder how this happens?
