09:44 AM ET 10.30 | It will be interesting to see whether Twins manager Ron Gardenhire tries to bring back utility infielder Nick Punto - a free agent with the Cardinals who was paid $750,000 this season - and whether Punto, discarded by the Twins a year ago, would even consider coming back.

He was pretty useless in the World Series.

Show Them Your Ring, Bro.

the player who disappoint me most was punto, but then again he was only a utility player, when his power and conssistancy in the plate has vanish its only the right thing to do. play one game here or just pinch hit for the pitcher!!

regardless of the way he played, and the way he help his team he got a ring which no twin could do in this past season,,,

the twins will need to save every penny they can, after all a utility player shouldn't cost that much!!

Punto got a lot of post-season playing time because of his defense and Schumaker's injury.

He's not a starter-caliber infielder, but I wouldn't mind seeing him back in a utility role in STL next year.

Another earth shattering move by the Twins....

Punto is a good guy to have on the bench as a utility infielder. Nothing more. The Twins can have him. Cards have Theriot and Schumaker for utility roles.

Agreed, but those guys are both free agents too.

Wasn't sad to see him go last year. But I wouldn't be upset if he came back to take Nishioka's spot. Nishi can't hit or field, at least Punto can do 1 of those things.
