Inside Tiger-Federer friendship
Tiger Woods and Roger Federer have become good buddies in recent years, and it's easy to see why. They have a lot in common, specifically their quests to dominate their competition year in and year out -- and to keep a friendly eye on each other's progress as they rewrite the record books of their individual sports. Theirs is a friendly rivalry between two men who never have to play each other -- the 31-year-old golf star and a 26-year-old counterpart on the tennis circuit. They are athletes who dominate in individual, sometimes lonesome, sports -- men who recognize the commitment and sacrifice that must be made, even if the games they play may seem foreign to the other.

I have followed both of the men for many years and I will tell you that I admire Tiger much more than Federer. I have watched Federer throw a hissy fit and completely lose it over calls. As he has grown older, he has been able to control it better. When I think 'class', Federers' name does not top the list. At the risk of being tarred and feathered and run out of town, I can't wait for his fall!

I have to completely disagree. Tiger flips out far more than Federer. In golf its easier to edit that out of the broadcast then tennis where the camera is always on. For instance tiger will drop an F bomb simply cause he hit it to the center of the green and not close enough to the pin. Also Tiger' s caddy steve williams is the most classless man in golf and he deserves some guilt for choosing him. On the other hand Federer comes off as one of the most humble men sports

I agree with Mike, Tiger throws a lot of fits. More than you see on tv. Unfortunately, neither is a McEnroe...man I loved watching that guy freak.

The games seem foreign to each other? No tennis where Tiger lives? Rich Europeans don't play golf?

At least those who disagree with me have been polite. Thank you. That said, when Federer was 'up and coming', he threw things, stamped his feet and acted like a petulant child. I guess I missed Federers' 'humble moments'.

Connemara - do you even know what you're talking about? If you happen to watch Federer on a regular (or even semi-regular) basis, you'd see his "humble moments" on-court and during interviews. For all his considerable success, he carries himself with humility and dignity unlike some other tennis players like Serena Williams who is nothing but classless and arrogant. Even the stoic Bjorn Borg threw tantrums in his younger days.
I'm not a big Federer fan but you're obviously a hater.
Woods on the other hand puts on his best face most of the time, but his temper escapes him after hitting certain shots he clearly doesn't like. And he can cuss up a storm with the best of them.
