11:10 AM ET 10.30 | Nick Diaz will now face the man he was originally supposed to meet at last night's event, UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, at the UFC's Super Bowl event in February of 2012. "This is what I wanted since the beginning," said St-Pierre. "Let's do what was supposed to be done originally. I've always wanted this fight -- now I want it even more. I can't wait for Superbowl weekend." UFC President Dana White noted at last night's post-fight press conference that the champion "flipped out" after Diaz's comments, and plans to deliver "the worst beating you've ever seen on him."

Be careful what you ask for GSP.

I feel sorry for Nick, if he didn't do this he would have to wait around 8 months to get a shot at GSP, now he pissed him off and will get his ass handed to him superbowl weekend... I also think Dana should make the Silva vs Sonnen fight as the co-main event for the superbowl weekend card and have the biggest UFC event ever!

The only problem is - GSP doesn't have the tool box to destroy Diaz. Sure, GSP can beat up a guy like Kos who is not a great boxer - but while Diaz takes punishment, he's also going to be coming forward - and hitting GSP in the face. And he'll HIT GSP unlike most of GSP's recent opponents. And the last time GSP was hit in the face, he lost his title. Oh wait, GSP will simply take Diaz down and ground and pound him. Um, sure. Except that GSP will then be submitted. Plain and simple. Diaz off his back is better than anyone GSP has faced other than Shields, but GSP kept that fight standing because Shields stinks on his feet.
GSP has a weak psyche (proven in the Serra fight when he tapped due to strikes like a punk, when he whined about his groin in the Alves fight, and when he whined about his eye in the Kos fight...) and Diaz ... doesn't. Diaz is going to have GSP so mad that GSP is going to try to hurt Diaz, which is great ... for Nick. In a standup war, Diaz will OWN GSP.
GSP nuthuggers - prepare to cry yourselves to sleep.

Stand up Diaz has the edge but GSP is a smart fighter and he knows his limits. Gsp will take Diaz down and work the ground game. GSP will submit Diaz, and for the record i'm not a GSP fan but he is still a great fighter.

Ooh is that right GSP doesn't have the toolbox to beat Diaz? I think he has the toolbox to beat anyone in the UFC. I agree that he hasn't fought any actually tough opponents with the exception of Jake Sheilds but he didn't lose a single round for a couple of years until he fought Jake and lost one. But you are wrong about how none of GSP's recent have hit him. If you remember in the Sheilds fight, Jake connected and GSP coundn't see out of one of his eyes for the last couple rounds and still one the fight. I seriously doubt that GSP will get submitted because he is by far the smartest fighter in the ufc. About the Serra fight, let's just say he is a much better fighter now then he was back then. The thing about Diaz is that, he is not all there... He's not the sharpest knife in the droor if you catch my drift and gsp will take advantage of that. The only thing I'm nervous about is GSP fighting mad, as Dana said, he has never seen GSP this mad and if he fights mad there will only be 2 possible outcomes... Diaz will wake up trying to figure out were he is or, GSP will lose. But I don't think GSP will ever lose aslong as he stays in the welterweight division.

Pretty much. But he didn't deserve a title shot in the first place so don't feel too bad for him. Nobody wants to see him fight GSP anyways

he DID certainly deserve it...in fact, the only reason he wasn't going to get that shot first was because GSP/Diaz was a bigger PPV sell, NOT because Diaz was more deserving....and then when Diaz got pulled from the title fight for wasting breathable air, which he continues to do, things were corrected....until GSP got hurt and the whole thing was called off...

OKay.
You must have ignored EVERY MMA expert on the PLANET over the last 5 years, who agree it's only a 2-dog race for best pound for pound fighter in the world. GSP is stronger, quicker and SMARTER than Diaz... all huge advantages. He will study Diaz for the next three months, analyze his weaknesses, and attack them...just like he did to Shields, Penn, Koscheck etc..
GSP schools Diaz and wins unanimous decision... as always.

I agree with everything you just said, but GSP is pissed... He is going to train harder, study harder and he will kill Diaz. This fight will not go to desicion, I'm calling a TKO in the 2nd round

GSP has a week chin. Just look Matt Sera got to him and I think Diaz is better than he is. I hope GSP gets the beating of his life.

good to know that I wont have to watch the fight since you decided beforehand exactly how it'll happen. And you're not even a bit biased. Nothing funnier than know-it-alls pretending to have crystal balls.

Wow, Dos Santos in a quickie tonight. I told my family, if we had a bookie I would put 1G on the 10-1 underdog. Those odds were to wide for this fight.
