Dolphins left chasing Fisher and Gruden?

08:03 AM ET 10.31 | Bill Cowher told a pregame television audience he didn't plan on coaching next season, which obviously affects the Dolphins. [Owner] Stephen Ross intends to start his head coach search looking for a star. That means he'll either try to find a star head coach who will have say over the personnel department, or he wants a star personnel man to bring in his head coach. I cannot tell you what star personnel men there are out there. Star head coaches? Cowher's stance seem to leave only Jon Gruden and Jeff Fisher at the moment, although others may emerge. Gruden, by the way, signed a five-year contract extension with ESPN and has privately told the network he probably will continue to work on Monday Night Football.

I'd be amazed if Jeff Fisher goes anywhere near the Phins. Like him or not, he'll have his pick of jobs when he's ready to come back. The Phins job will probably go to an up-and-coming assistant who thinks he's ready for the big-boy chair.

OK, I just do not get it. If I am the Dolphins, I want a guy like Marty Schottenheimer to come in and put my house in order.
The Chargers are STILL living off of what he put together there after they fired him for going 14-2 and saying he just could not win in the play offs. ( Guess Norv can-really).

Gruden just re-upped his TV contract, so that's a non-starter. I doubt Fisher would want that train wreck.

Considering what Jim Harbaugh has done for the 49ers, I'd say just keep stacking money on the table till he can't resist leaving the 49ers after one year and switching to Miami to rejoin Andrew Luck :-).

It looks that way, but consider this stat. " The Packers are 27th in overall defense. Even worse, they are next-to-last in pass-defense in a pass-happy league."
The only defensive stat they appear to be good at is run defense, but why run the ball when you can pass all over them AND if you are always behind because they score so many points you are not running the ball much anyways.

Christian Ponder had a great game against them eight days ago... considering he was a rookie QB making his first start. There may be some weak spots on the Packers, but so far there hasn't been any team able to take advantage of them for four quarters.
