08:22 AM ET 11.01 | All the usual suspects have been mentioned, and Greg Byrne has likely considered them in one form or another. Can Byrne possibly identify and successfully hire anyone more compelling that Southern Miss coach Larry Fedora? If he does -- if he can -- it is possible that UA football, as we know it, can be saved. Fedora, 48, has coached Southern Mississippi to a 7-1 record (29-18 in four years). He (a) has a pedigree that includes high-profile positions with the Florida Gators and the Oklahoma State Cowboys; (b) is a Texan with recruiting tentacles throughout the Lone Star State; (c) has current numbers that turn your head ... and (d) has a background that includes coaching and recruiting the West.

Just a terribly written article. But maybe Coach Fedora can hire John TenGallon and Bob Bowler as assistants.

But their nicknames have to be Tex!

That's good, I never thought of MS going to Arky, IMO he can help their defense.

Why should he be???? I sure there are other Asst coaches and coaches that are just as qualified as Leach.

His name and Randy Shannon are flying around here.....not sure Petrino is ready to make a change, but the fans are. Imagine what Arky could do if they could compete on both sides of the ball.

Right now, I would be happy if they could just show up for 2 halves of the same game.
Grumble, grumble, grumble.........

Very uninspiring hat for someone with that name, Larry.

Yeah they have been playing on the edge as of late. All they need to do is play better Defense and they will be just fine.

But as HC his defense sucked at AZ....they could score points they just couldn't stop anyone except Rick Doosheisel...
