08:17 AM ET 11.01 | Joe Montana spoke last week in Rochester, N.Y., where he had some pointed criticism for his alma mater. Asked by an audience member if he would consider a position as athletic director or coach with the Fighting Irish, he said "You're asking me at absolutely the wrong time." Montana's son, Nate, transferred from Notre Dame to Montana after being a backup quarterback last season. "What happened with my son and the reasons for leaving Notre Dame shouldn't happen to any kid," he said. "At this point in time, it's hard to be in their corner." Montana stressed "preparation, work and trust" as the keys to success. "I really believe that the way you come to work every day has more to do with your success than anything you do," he said.

At least Montana is complaining after the fact and not hiring a PR firm.

True...and one would expect Montana to show a lot more class than James.

You know that you are on the right path to TD Jesus when the road you follow is filled with dead horses that have been kicked to death.

Just another typical parent thinking that their son is the greatest thing on two feet.

QUOTE(#17):

His son didn't start playing football till his Junior year of high school and didn't even start. He came to ND as a walk-on under Charlie, in 2009 went to Cal Poly to try and start(was 3rd string, 50% completion out there) came back last year. Sucked major ass against Michigan. Where does he fit?ReesCristHendrixGolsonMontana? We already converted former QB, Luke Massa, to WR. Brian Kelly asked Montana to move to safety. He left, went to Montana university. Now he is the backup at Montana.

The question is why didn't he start playing football until his junior year? Did he just think he would be genetically gifted? Was he cut from the cheer squad? This baffles me.....
