08:23 AM ET 11.01 | Daniel Alfredsson will miss at least a week with a concussion, and Bryan Murray isn't happy about it. [Wojtek Wolski] was assessed a two-minute minor for an illegal check to the head on the play, but escaped further punishment from NHL head disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan. "I told (Shanahan) I didn't agree that (Wolski) did go out of his way a little to make contact - that it was an elbow involved in the play," Murray said. "An elbow to the head ... I was under the impression there would be a suspension. Since our player was hurt in that particular incident, I can't agree with the ruling."

Didn't take long for the inconsistencies to resurface, quite unfortunately.

You're right. That moron, Carcillo, got two for boarding and, he was notified right away. Five days latter, the Oilers Andy Sutton is still waiting to find out what his punishment is going to be for the hit on Ladeskog. He already served one game. But, the delay in sentencing makes everyone nervous. Shanahan might decide to make an example of him while letting Wolski get away with near murder. The whole thing sucks!

He must be super fun with a few wobbly pops in him.

I just watched the replay of Wolski's hit on Alfredson. He plants an elbow to his head, a direct hit. Alfie's going to be out for a week but Wolski doesn't even get a hearing? Uneffingbelievable!

Let's get one thing straight here. Carcillo got suspended for being Carcillo. The refs didn't even call a penalty, no injury, Pitkanen never missed a shift. He didn't drive his head into the boards. They made contact 5 feet in front of the goal line for christ's sake. He'd never been suspended for a check. Always for referee altercations and fighting incidents.

It aint like Alfredsson skated into the elbow. The elbow was extended, principle point of contact was the head and an injury occured on the play. WTF.

I was really behind Shanny in the beginning. He was making the right calls. Now it's Colon 2.0 with fancy videos.

Surprise? no Disappoint? yes

I really wanted to believe things would be different this time.

Shanahan was pretty heavy handed in the beginning. Perhaps he should find a happy medium? This hit deserves a 3 game break since that is what the NHL wants to crack down on.

I bet he'd go off on a tangent about how that "Bathtard" Burke stole Kadri from him...

That is the definition of a cheap shot right there. And, the puck was nowhere near them. I'm willing to give Shanahan a mulligan but he sure did drop the ball on this one.

Maybe there should be a video of Shanny missing the call, and then we can freeze the video and say, right here, this is where you f'd up.

Shanny is to Lady Gaga as Colin was to Madonna.

Kinda like stealing bags of dog pooh from the park garbage cans.

November 1, 2011  11:49 AM ET

Maybe Shanny fell asleep watching Sens hockey.

November 1, 2011  01:36 PM ET

Maybe the whiny GM's have had an effect on shanny's ability to make quick appropriate decisions?

Agreed on all points. There's still time to correct course in Shanny's office.
