Will TV compromise Faldo?

As viewers of the CBS TV network in the US have discovered, six-times Major Champion Nick Faldo has transformed into a witty, urbane and informed commentator who displays absolutely no fear or favour when it comes to expressing his opinion. Yet as 34 of the PGA Tour's leading professionals shake off the holiday tinsel for next week's Mercedes Championship in Hawaii, one can't help feeling that Faldo's position as European Ryder Cup captain will inevitably be compromised sometime over the next nine months if he continues doing his job as a broadcaster the way it should be done.

Didnt like him as a player, and certainly dont like him as a commentator, although i will give him credit for speaking without fear or favour and for being one of the few who actually know what he is talking about

As a player I thought it was wonderful when he used his sister to carry his bag. Kept it in the family. He played well and had a streak, but his sense of humor and commentating was entertaining. Once I saw him on the golf channel, with a local pro. The Pro used the anology of a door on hingers, opening and closing on that pivot. Of course, Faldo stood up like a robot, repeating, "I am a door, I am a door."
