08:23 AM ET 11.05 | The Browns are near the end of their rope with running back Peyton Hillis and are prepared to let him walk in free agency after this season, NFL sources said. At this point, it would take a dramatic turnaround in behavior and production for Hillis to persuade the Browns to re-sign him when he becomes a free agent in March. "It's one thing after another, and what's been out there isn't even the half of it," one source said.

I didn't know running backs cause problems....I thought it was only wide receivers...

Something is up with Hillis though. He's talented but this is now the second team that seems eager to get rid of him.

"Mentally fragile," hamstring injury history RBs are not in high demand right now. His agent may want to sit him down and have a heart to heart.
He is most likely looking at a one year offer from some teams for not much over the minimum salary for a fifth year player.

What has he done to frustrate the Browns? I don't get it. This is certainly solid reporting.

He used the old "I want a new contract so I'll sit out a game with a sore throat" ploy to get more money. Guys are playing with broken bones, punctured lungs and concussions but this doink sits because of a cold?!?!? Don't let him walk at the end of the year because he may pull another hamstring!

Hillis needs to look at Matt Forte. He's not happy with his contract but he keeps bustin his ass instead of being a punk on the sidelines.
